  GOD CAN Gospel Singers

*Unlike the other stories on our Inspiration page, this story is very blunt and straight to the point. However, it has a lot of good points and meaning in it, so keep an open mind as you read it and you may get a blessing from it.

Brotherly Love

We need more people spreading love and genuine care for one another. Instead of spreading hate because you have the idea that you're better than someone else, step back and think about the other person. I'm not just talking about family and the people you know, but everyone out there trying to make it through another day.

STOP. Think about the situation this person may be going through, either at their work, with their kids or their marriage, or maybe even by themselves because no one has ever cared enough to stop and listen. They have problems too and have to put up with stuff just like the rest of us, and it's our job to make a difference. Don't wait for someone else to take care of it. God has called us to be His hands and feet to go out and share His unconditional love with the world.

Step up, America! Stop being so offended by things that don't even matter, and think about someone other than yourself for a change! Take a step down from your pedestal and open your eyes to see more than just your little world! If you look around, you'll find that everyone is the same. Ask anyone in the medical profession "What is the difference between blacks and whites, or Asians and Native Americans on the inside?" and they will tell you that underneath the color of your skin, all HUMANS are the same. We are all human beings placed on God's earth with two things to do; praise and worship God, and love one another.

To be completely honest, I'm sick of people rioting in the streets for something they don't really know what it means. I'm tired of people thinking that because I like something or have an opinion on something, that I am directly and personally discriminating against them. Grow up, people! This isn't second grade! Just because two people don't see eye to eye on something doesn't mean that they can't love one another; it just means that they can agree to disagree on that topic and then move on to a place where they can find common ground and grow together.

If people could just open their minds and hearts to care about someone else, they would be able to attain true happiness by giving of themselves to someone in need. Christmas is my favorite month of the year because I get so excited about giving stuff to people. I collect things throughout the year, and at Christmas, I put on the finishing touches and tailor each one to the person receiving it. It makes me so happy, while I'm wrapping each gift, to think of the joy I will be giving this person with the gift in my hands!

Wouldn't it be nice to actually feel the happiness of the person you helped? Well, you can. It's called the gift of giving and it only comes when you give someone a piece of yourself. So, do something nice for someone today. Go out of your way to be kind to a fellow human being and see how much it means to them. Break the cycle. Go against the grain. Be the best you can be and dare anyone to do it better!
